Toppling Racism Tour Fund

The peoples’ takedown of the Confederate monument sparked something powerful – in the days that followed, the community of Durham received tens of thousands of messages of solidarity and support from more than 15 countries around the world.

While the organizing to remove statues and plaques, and change names, had been happening for months, and sometimes years, the example of what Durham did spurred the city of Baltimore to immediately remove their monuments, this example was followed by Houston and Dallas, TX, Kansas City, MO, Lexington, KY, and many other places — most recently, Memphis, TN.

Meanwhile, requests have been pouring into have Takiyah come speak in their community.  Unfortunately, most groups do not have the funds to cover the costs of travel – that’s why we are asking for YOUR HELP to make the “Topple Racism, Do it like Durham” Speaking Tour a reality.

Help us make our $10k goal to take our stories, our resilience, and our message on the road.
